How it works

BUDDYSCAN is a small NFC tag on your dog or cat's collar. It does not use batteries, GPS or a mobile app. The chip contains only a website address.

1. 1. You purchase BUDDYSCAN. Subscribe for £9.99 per year and get a free BUDDYSCAN. The tag is included once.
2. 2. You receive a pre-programmed tag. Nexus Print Services writes the unique address before it is sent. You never configure the chip.
3. 3. You activate it. Create an account, enter the private activation code from the packaging, and add your pet. The code is not stored on the chip and cannot be read by scanning the tag.
4. 4. You choose what a finder can see. A name, a telephone number and a short message. Your home address is not required.
5. 5. Someone finds your pet. They hold a compatible phone near the tag. The phone opens the public page. An iPhone may ask them to tap a notification first. They do not need a BUDDYSCAN account.
